Joseph Michael D’Allura, aged 68, of New Castle, passed away September 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born August 19, 1958, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, he was the son of Joseph D’Allura and Madeline Chambers D’Allura.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 41-years, Jean Ellen (Spencer) D’Allura whom he married Sept. 22, 1985.

Joe was a 1976 graduate of El Modina High School in Orange, California. While in high school he became an Explorer for Orange Police Department. He would then go on to work in law enforcement in Orange County. After some time, he found his ultimate life’s work for the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department in the Canine Scent Detection Unit. In his career he had numerous commendations which he attributed to the four highly decorated labrador retrievers, Reilly, Cooper, Ranger and Kayla.

Joe enjoyed his everyday life with his family, close friends, neighbors in his community, and his forever colleagues in the field.

Joe is survived by his son, Sean Michael D’Allura of Newport Beach, CA; two sisters, and three brothers: Ann Marie Ermatinger, Kathy D’Allura, John D’Allura, Jim D’Allura, and Tom D’Allura

In keeping with Joe’s wishes, a private service will be held at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
