Joseph Fava, age 98, passed away the morning of March 27, 2017 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born March 29, 1918 in New Castle, he was the son of Salvatore and Teresina Orrico Fava. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Irene K. Wellman Fava, whom he married May 5, 1946. Joseph was a building maintenance engineer for 38 years in Chicago, ILL. Prior, he worked at United Engineering and Shenango Tin Mill in New Castle. He attended First Assembly of God. Also surviving are his two daughters, Karen (Ron) Lawson and Joan (Steve) Brimmer; 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
