Joseph A. Freed, Sr., 86, of New Castle, went home to be with his Lord on Feb. 4, 2012 at his residence.Born April 24, 1925 in New Castle, he was the son of Angelo and Frances DeRosa Freed. He married Florence Pannutti. She passed away Jan. 2, 1998. Joseph worked with heavy equipment. He loved the Lord and worked in ministries in California.Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine and David L. DeSalvo of New Castle, Sharon and David Norwicki of Tahlequah, OK; two sons, Joseph A. Freed, Jr. and Tony Freed, both of Riverside, CA; two brothers, David Freed and George Freed, Sr., both of New Castle; a sister, Mary Pallot of New Castle; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; six brothers, Tony, Alfred, Frank, Dominick, Paul and John Freed; and a sister Antonette Freed.Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, from 2-4 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Chad Stoecker of First Assembly of God will officiate.
