Josephine Smith, 95, of Jameson Care Center, passed the morning of February 24, 2010 at her residence.Born July 27, 1914, in West Virginia, she was a daughter of Raymer and Martha Hawkins Baker.She married Arthur Smith who preceded her in death in 1950.Mrs. Smith retired from Jameson Memorial Hospital in 1987 after thirty three years as a darkroom technician.She enjoyed making ceramics and embroidery.She is survived by one daughter, Marjorie Gibas of New Castle; two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Julie Smith of New Castle and Kenneth and Cathie Smith of Albuquerque, NM; one sister, Estelle Shaw of Flint, Mich; six grandchildren, Diane Lapinski, Jeffery (Cindy) Smith, Brian Smith, Mark Gibas, Cindy (John) Papageorgeon and Joseph (Holly) Gibas; and one great granddaughter, Maria Gibas.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.Visitation will be held Friday, February 26, 2010, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m.at the funeral home. The Rev.
