Joyce Ruth (Chelko) Dougan, 78, of New Castle, PA was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior August 31, 2023.

Born November 25,1944 in Natrona Heights, PA, she was the loving daughter of the late, Anthony (Ben) Chelko Sr. and Elaine (Diller) Chelko.

Joyce was a graduate of Har-Brack High School as well as Butler School of Nursing. She dedicated her life to serving others as a pediatric nurse at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle until her retirement. Joyce enjoyed travel, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and sharing her love and joy through her crafts. She was known for her generosity and always putting the needs of others before her own. She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Dougan and daughters, Kelly (Bill) Zolper of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Jamie Tommelleo of New Castle, PA, brother, Larry (Lavonne) Chelko and their children, Runae (Bryan) Badciong, Kristin Chelko, Eric Chelko, all of Duluth, GA, and her grandchildren, Madison (Harrison) Reiff of Leesburg, VA, and Ashlynn Zolper of Philadelphia, PA.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony (Ben) Chelko Jr.

Per her wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A celebration of life to honor the beautiful life Joyce lived will be held at a future date.
