Joyce Cummings Paden, age 85 of New Castle, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born April 1, 1931 in Moon Township Pa., she was the daughter of the late Howard and Gladys Wilson Cummings. She married Thomas N. Paden on October 1, 1954 and he preceded her in death on July, 7, 1994. Joyce was a graduate of New Castle High School class of 1949 and a 1953 graduate of West Minister College. Joyce worked as a secretary for the State Farm Insurance Company and as an operator for Bell Telephone. She enjoyed puzzles, baking and doing handy work around the house. Joyce was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon, taught Sunday school and was part of the McIlvaine Guild. Survivors include two daughters Lisa (Harry) Robinson of New Castle and Susan (Guy) Molinari of Upper Saddle River New Jersey , one son Thomas (Denise) Paden of Marietta Ga., a sister Janet Verone of New Castle and three grandchildren Dana, Tom and Kate. In addition to her parents and husband Joyce was preceded in death by one brother Dale Cummings and one sister Carol Orr. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, 2429 Wilmington rd., New Castle. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Rick Vogeley officiating. Burial will follow in Castleview Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 125 N.
