Joyce E. Walker, 57, of Neshannock Township, passed away unexpectedly the morning of October 4, 2018 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born March 16, 1961 in New Castle, she is the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Miller) Myers who reside in Florida. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Ted Walker, whom she married May 9, 1987. A 1979 graduate of Portersville Christian School, Joyce was employed with the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare and was a secretary for the Youth Development Center. Joyce enjoyed motorcycling and participated in the annual Blessing of the Bikes in downtown New Castle where over 600 motorcyclists gather. She was active with First Assembly of God/Mohawk Campus in providing meals for Mohawk High School band members during summer band camp. Among her many other interests, she enjoyed gardening and frequenting yard sales. A member of Faith Country Chapel, she more recently had been attending First Assembly of God/Mohawk Campus. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Allison E. (James) Pollman and Abigail E. Walker, and a son, Braden J. Walker, all of New Castle; two brothers, Gerald Myers of New Castle and James Myers of Indiana; and one grandson, Ezra Pollman. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 8, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00, and on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin McConnell and Pastor Russell Van Nest officiating. Burial will be in Center Church Cemetery.
