Joyce L. Watkins, age 80, of New Castle, passed away the morning of November 29, 2018, at her residence. Born August 3, 1938, in McDonald, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Kathleen (Dennis) Charlier. She married William H. Watkins, on August 25, 1962. He survives at home. Mrs. Watkins was a graduate of Zelienople High School. She was a homemaker where she enjoyed scrapbooking, crocheting, and being a cub scout leader. She most enjoyed baking, decorating and spending time with her family. Mrs. Watkins was a charter member of Independent Methodist Church where she was a part of the social committee and taught Sunday school. Along with her husband, Joyce is survived by two daughters; Lynn (Rev. Joseph) Rearick of Washington, Pa., Amy (Richard Jr.) DeAugustine of New Castle, Pa., one son; William (Ronda) Watkins of New Castle, Pa., two brothers; Harry Charlier of Zelienople Pa., Tim (Joann) Charlier of Zelienople, Pa., five grandchildren; Adam Rearick, Rachael Rider, Nicole Watkins, Elizabeth DeAugustine, Reis Watkins and two great-grandchildren; Noah Rearick and Bonnie Rider. Preceding her in death are her parents, one brother; Robert Charlier and one grandson; Chase Watkins. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 3rd from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 4th at 11:00 AM at Independent Methodist Church, 1921 New Butler Rd., New Castle. The Rev. Frederick Gilbert, of Independent Methodist Church, will be officiating. Burial will be at Parkside Cemetery.
