It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Dunlap Wimer, our loving wife, mother, sister and a friend to all whose lives she touched. Joyce passed on May 15, 2021. Joyce was the daughter of the late James "Gene" and Helen Dunlap who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Russ Wimer, whom she married on May 3, 1985, son Andrew Wimer, and a sister, Sandra Dunlap. Also surviving is one aunt, numerous cousins and a multitude of friends. Joyce was born in New Castle on November 20, 1953. Joyce worked as a Human Resource Manager until her retirement. She was always willing to help when someone called and needed help, no matter what the job entailed. She was an outdoor girl at heart and loved working outdoors gardening, canning the fruits of her labor. Joyce also enjoyed traveling with friends and family visiting new places and experiencing new things. She enjoyed planning get-togethers with everyone for any occasion. Most of all, she loved her family and instilled in them strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and will be "forever in our hearts." Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 5, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A memorial service will take place immediately following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with The Rev. Mark Goswick of New Virginia United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Mt.
