Juanita M. Cox, age 78, of Neshannock Township, passed away the morning of April 8, 2024, at her residence.

Born July 11, 1945, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Robert and Gladys (Knight) Burchett.

After her graduation from Union High School in 1963, she attended some college classes. Juanita was employed in the bakery department at Wal-Mart until her retirement. What she treasured most was the time spent with her grandchildren.

Juanita is survived by two daughters, Kristin Oakes and Jill Spencer both of New Castle; two sons, Michael Spencer of Woodstock, GA and John Spencer of Beaufort, SC-; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Burchett of New Castle and Edward Burchett of Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Nancy McCart of New Castle; six grandchildren, Derrik Spencer, Kimberly Spencer, Nicholas Spencer, David Oakes, Lillian Oakes and Michael Oakes; and one great-grandchild, Genevieve Nass.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Cox, whom she married August 31, 1973, and a sister, Betty Clark.

There will be no visitation. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 13, at 1:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, with the Rev. Jordan Rimmer officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
