Judith A. Marketich, age 78, of New Castle, passed away the evening of July 5, 2022, at UPMC Jameson Care Center.
Born Oct. 16, 1943, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ellen (Stephenson) Lockhart.
Judy was married to her beloved husband, Eugene Marketich, for 32 years. He survives at home.
For twenty years, Judy was employed by St. Francis Hospital, where she worked as a billing clerk. After her time at St. Francis, she went onto work for Golden Hills Nursing Home, as their billing clerk, for twelve years. Judy enjoyed traveling and music, however what gave her the most joy in life, was spending time with her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
The family would like to give a special thank you to John and Susan Fraschetti for all their love and support as well as niece Rene Yeropoli for all her love and support through this difficult journey. Also, a very special thank you to Three Rivers Hospice and Jameson Care Center Staff for their love, support, and care for Judy.
Along with her husband, Judy is survived by a son, Bruce (Jennifer) Edgington, of Lebanon, PA; two sisters-in-law, Patty (Ray) Boyd and Charlotte Pitzer; five nieces, Rene (Rocky) Yeropoli, Tiffany (Phillip) Vanasco, Rhonda (Ronald) Brickey, Krissy (Jerry) Wilcher and Erin Marketich; two nephews Timothy Pitzer and Darren Boyd; two brothers-in-law, Stanley Marketich and Edwin Marketich; one aunt, Betty Stephenson and two grandchildren, Katrina Edgington and Quinn Marketich.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by three stepsons, Eugene II, Robert J. and Douglas Marketich and one sister, Shirley Lockhart.
Visitation will be held on Fri. July 8th from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
Visitation will be held on Sat. July 9th from 11:00 AM – 12:00PM at the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at noon, with Rev. John Yergan officiating.
Burial will be at Harmony Baptist Cemetery.
