June A. Cox, age 100, formerly of New Castle, passed away July 10, 2026 at Shenango-on-the Green in New Wilmington, PA.

Born February 2, 1926, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Elliott Swift Warnock and Verna (Porter) Warnock.

She was preceded in death on June 7, 2010, by her beloved husband of 63 years, Gilbert A. Cox, Jr., whom she married August 10, 1946.

A graduate of New Castle High School, June was employed as a secretary for American Can Company. In addition to her love of camping, June enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the New Castle Paws & Taws. She was a long-time member of Northminster Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, James and Cynthia Warnock of Palmyra, PA; 4 grandchildren, David Cowmeadow, Christie Reid, Cindy Miskowiec, and Laura Turngren; 4 great grandchildren; one nephew, Matt Warnock and one niece, Jill Schwitzgebel.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by both her children, a daughter, Julie Cowmeadow and a son, John D. Cox.

There will be a one-hour visitation prior to a funeral service on Tuesday, July 14, from 10-11 AM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle with a service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Jordan Rimmer will officiate.

Burial will be in Castle View Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in June's honor, may be made to Shenango on the Green, 238 S. Market St. , New Wilmington, PA 16142.
