Karen Lee Gish, age 74, of Neshannock Twp., passed away the afternoon of April 16, 2022, at her residence.
Born Nov. 12, 1947, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Frank R. and Twila (Kiefer) Masters.
On Feb. 27, 1971, she married her beloved husband of 24 years, James R. Gish. He preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1995.
Karen was a 1965 graduate of Neshannock High School. She went on to earn her Associate Degree, in business, from Erie Business School. For 23 years, she worked as a travel agent, employed by AAA and Break Away Tours. She retired on August 31, 2018. She was an avid traveler and visited over 50 countries. Karen also loved to show champion dogs and was an avid dog lover. Most of all, she enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her family and friends.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Darla (John) McNelly, of Washington; one stepson, James R. (Barbara) Gish, Jr., of South Carolina; three nephews, John McQuiston of Painter, VA, and Lance (Noelle) Matiste of Poland, OH; and Devon Masters of Carlinville, IL; three nieces, Lindsay McQuiston of Boardman, OH, Casey (Alex) Van Pelt of Quarryville, PA and Megan Masters of Carlinville, IL; 9 step grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren and 7 step great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Karen was preceded in death by half brother Frank R. Masters, Jr., one stepsister Jacqueline McQuiston, one stepbrother, "Bud" Matiste and nephew, Scott McQuiston.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
