Karen L. Newton, 70, of Euclid Avenue, passed away the morning of March 20, 2018 at her residence. Born September 3, 1947 in Butler County, PA, she is the daughter of James and Maxine (Day) Kamerer who reside in New Castle. A Shenango High School graduate, Karen was employed as a TTY Operator for AT&T until her retirement. She was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Steelers. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her former husband, Robert Newton; two daughters, Tracy (Daniel) Evanoski and Heather (Matthew) Early, all of New Castle; one son, Robert Newton of New Castle; two brothers, Terry Kamerer and James Kamerer of New Castle; one sister, Debra Still of Carnegie, PA; six grandchildren, Ashley, Brianna, Daniel, Leighann, Christopher and Benjamin; and one great-grandson, Alexander. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00-8:00 p.m.at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Presbyterian Church, 708 Highland Avenue, New Castle, with the Rev. Richard Kinney officiating.
