Katharyn S. Brinton, 78, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord on the evening of July 29, 2012 in Jameson Hospital.Katharyn was born on March 20, 1934, in New Castle, to the late Charles E. and Margaret Evans Spencer. She married William R. Brinton on April 2, 1955. He preceded her in passing on April 17, 1989. Mrs. Brinton was a retired New Castle school teacher. Katharyn was a graduate of New Castle High School before receiving her teaching degree from Grove City College. She was a member of the Rainbow Girls Assembly #1, loved horses, music, playing bridge and was an avid Steelers fan. Mrs. Brinton was a devoted member and Sunday School teacher at Highland Presbyterian Church.Katharyn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Joe Ambrosini, of New Castle; her sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Jerry Stone, of Mineral, VA; 3 grandchildren, Joseph William, Tess Renee and Abby Lynn Ambrosini and one niece and nephew, Karyn Stone Simonelli and John Stone.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing by her two sons, Charles E. and John William Brinton.Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Augt 2, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Richard Kinney will officiate.
