Kathleen E. Mooney, age 71, of 67 Fosterville Road, Greensburg, Pa., passed away the night of February 12, 2016 at Westmoreland Manor in Greensburg. Born May 23, 1944 in New Castle, she was a daughter of William and Dorothy Brunton Bilger. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, David S. Mooney, Sr., whom she married November 19, 1966. A 1962 graduate of New Castle High School, she was employed as a secretary during her life. Kathleen was known for her baking and singing. She also enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was an avid signer for the deaf community. An active member of Grace Baptist Church in Greensburg, Pa., she served as a deaconess, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed being a Sparks leader with the Awana program, and was involved with the church nursery. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Amanda S. (Jeff) Myers of Greensburg; two sons, David S. (Amy) Mooney, Jr. of Dacula, GA, and Mark A. (Amy) Mooney of Murrysville, Pa; one brother, William Bilger, Jr. of Rapid City, SD; three sisters, Joy Goehring of Indianapolis, IN, Janice Kaufman of Lancaster, Pa, and Deborah Bilger of Sautee, Ga.; and five grandchildren, David III, Leah, Crystal, Alyse, and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin brother, Ken Bilger; and one sister, Bonnie Vilk. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Castle View Gardens in New Castle.
