Kathleen M. Strobel, 68, of 338 Centennial Lane, New Castle, passed away the afternoon of April 28, 2010, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.Born May 16, 1941, in New Castle, she was the daughter of George and Katherine Howard Kreitzer. Kathleen married Donald R. Strobel on April 30, 1960. She was employed by the New Castle School District in the cafeteria and worked at George Washington Junior High, Ben Franklin Junior High, and New Castle High School. Kathleen enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and most of all loved her grandchildren.In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, William R. and Amy Strobel of New Castle, Donald W. and Jill Strobel of New Castle; a brother, Mike Kreitzer of New Castle; five sisters, Deloris DePetrio, Mary Ann Cummings, Eloise Roberts, and Margaret Kahrer all of New Castle, and Linda Annarumo of Ellwood City, and two grandchildren, Zachary Strobel and Zayne Strobel.She was preceded in death by her parents.Visitation will be private at the convenience of the family.A private funeral service will be held with the Rev. Bob Strobel officiating. Burial will be in Rich Hill Cemetery.
