Kathryn Leanne Cline, 70, was a dedicated sister, aunt, and friend. Known for her positive attitude and being a godly role model, she loved helping people and served as a caring nurse for her entire working career. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on July 5, 2020. Kathy was born in New Castle, PA on December 7, 1949 to Russell Dale Cline and Frances Narelle Boozer Cline. She resided in Portersville and was a life-long member of First Baptist Church in New Castle, where she formerly served as a deaconess. Kathy received her bachelor's degree in nursing from the Jameson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She later received a master's degree from Carlow University, serving in the field of nursing for many years. At Jameson Hospital, she worked as a nurse in the Intensive Care Unit, a counselor in the diabetes clinic, and as a Nursing Supervisor. She worked for the Butler Visiting Nurses Association and served as a teacher in the Jameson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, the Butler Hospital School of Nursing, and Lawrence County Vo-Tech. Kathy was proud of her family, often busy helping, encouraging, and sharing in their lives. She loved being surrounded by family and spending quality time with her close friends, always putting others first in any situation. She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Dale Cline, her mother, Frances Narelle Boozer Cline, and her sister-in-law, Karen Sue Cline. She is survived by her brother, Russell (Beverly) Cline; 4 nieces and nephews; Michael (Julia) Cline, Jodi (Matt) Mularski, Jenette Cline and David (Julie) Cline; and 4 great nieces and nephews: Isabella, Madelyn, and Liam Cline and Audrey Cline. A celebration/memorial service will be held at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle on Thursday, July 9, 2020. Friends will be received from 2:00-4:00 p.m. with a service following at 4:00 with the Rev. John Yergan officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hermon Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kathryn Cline Memorial; First Baptist Church, 984 West Maitland Lane, New Castle, PA 16105.
