Kathryn Smith Reynolds, age 99, of Union Township, passed away at her daughters residence June 24, 2017. Born November 22, 1917 in Poland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Andrew and Bertha Smith. Kathryn was preceded in death on February 19, 2000 by her husband of 62 years, Albert L. Reynolds, whom she married on November 13, 1937. A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and especially baking her famous variety of cookies, pies and cakes. She also liked ceramics and often taught classes. Prior to her membership at Wayside Emmanuel Church, she and her husband were active in the New Castle Bible Church. She is survived by one daughter, Bonny August and her husband John of New Castle; one son, Raymond Reynolds of St. Cloud, FL; one grandson; one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter; and two great-great grandsons. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and five sisters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Max Bungard officiating.
