Keith D. McVicker, 79, of Jameson Assisted Living passed away the morning of March 13, 2012 at Jameson Care Center.Born Feb. 21, 1933 in Masontown, WV, he was the son of William & Lettie McVicker. Keith married Sara Cooper March 7, 1983. She survives. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Keith was an oceanographer at the Naval Oceanographic Institute in Washington, DC and Maryland. He helped develop the first camera taken to the moon and had dinner with President Kennedy. Keith was a Mason and Grand Master. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing and was an avid sportsman. Keith was a member of Washington Union Alliance Church.In addition to his wife, he is survived by several children, grandchildren and brothers.Keith was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Gloria and Helen.There are no calling hours.A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 25, 2012, at 3:00 PM at Washington Union Alliance Church, 2103 West Washington St., New Castle. The Rev. Dr. Richard Noble will officiate. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct a military service at the church.Arrangements are by R.
