Kenneth "Kenny" Eugene Thomas, age 90, of New Castle, passed away the early morning of April 29, 2024, at The Grove – New Castle.

Born July 24, 1933, in New Castle, he was the son of the late John and Donna (Gibson) Thomas.

On Oct. 17, 1959, he married his beloved wife, Barbara (Lutch) Thomas, who survives at home.

Kenny was a graduate of New Castle High School. He joined the Navy and faithfully served his country in the Korean War. For several years he worked as a stationary engineer, employed by Youngstown Sheet and Tube and Cleveland LTV Steel. Kenny enjoyed golfing and crossword puzzles. He was an avid runner, completing five marathons. Kenny was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife, Kenny is survived by one son, Scott (Laura) Thomas of Stow, OH; one daughter, Karen Durrett of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; one sister, Sandra Kite of New Castle, PA; one niece, Susan Kite of New Castle, PA; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Paul Thomas.

In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or services.
