Kenneth Samuel Whisler, Jr, 82, of Poland, Ohio, formerly of Edinburg and Petrolia, Pa, went

home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while surrounded by family on Monday,

October 28th, 2024.

Ken was a devoted son, brother to Ann Baker (Bob), husband to Nancy, father to Beverly

Lankitus (Dan) and David Whisler (Lorri), Grandfather to Sarah Amstutz (Zach), Jed Lankitus

(Meryem), David Lankitus (Abbie), Luke Lankitus, Kelsey Whisler, Abigail Whisler.

Preceding his death were his parents, Kenneth Samuel Whisler, Sr and Edna Little Whisler,

brother-in-law, Bob Baker, and nephew Robert Baker Jr.

Ken married Nancy Bintliff on March 21, 1964, and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding

anniversary. Ken and Nancy loved serving the Lord as members of First Baptist Church in New

Castle, Pa and previously as members at St. Peter's Reformed Church in Fairview, Pa. Ken

served as an Elder, taught the "Sonshine Class" for adults with special needs, and served on

mission trips to Ukraine. Together Ken and Nancy led mission trips to Bolivia every summer for

17 years only stopping after their health prevented foreign travel.

He was a 1960 graduate of Eichelberger High School in Hanover, Pa. He graduated with a

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Lebanon Valley College and a master's degree in

Chemistry from Villanova University. He began his career as a Chemist at Sun Oil Company in

Marcus Hook, Pa before becoming the Superintendent of shipping at Witco Chemical in

Petrolia, Pa. After retirement he started his own business, Jireh Quality Services, as an auditor

for ISO 9000. He loved traveling the United States and meeting new people.

Ken gave his time to his grandchildren, serving the church and outreach missions abroad. He

was a friend to all and especially to those in need. His life verse was John 8:32: You shall know

the truth and the truth will make you free. He will be remembered for his favorites: #1 Nancy,

followed by Florida sunsets, Bird watching, Gardening, Lily & Yoda, Watching World War II and

Civil War documentaries, Fighter Jets, Trains, Western movies and last but not least Chick-Fil-A.

His family wants to express their sincere gratitude to all those who have shown their love and

support during this journey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Hospital in

memory of Corey Summerville.

The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church, 984 W. Maitland Lane, New Castle, PA 16105, on Sat. December 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM, for a celebration of his life. All are welcome to a luncheon at the church immediately

following the service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd., New Castle.
