Kimberly A. Richardson, age 59 of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of October 15, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, in Pittsburgh. Born July 4, 1961, she was the daughter of Ronald and Phyllis Maiella Wright. Kimberly was a graduate of YSU, earning her bachelor's and master's degrees in criminal justice, all while obtaining a 4.0 GPA. She worked at YDC as a counselor for several years. Kimberly loved sports and played softball in her younger years. She loved Halloween and was an avid collector of Peanuts and Snoopy memorabilia. She had a huge love for Elvis, Bon Jovi, and Prince. Kimberly was an avid animal lover, especially for two special dogs, Rascal and Trinity. She was a member of First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Kimberly is survived by her fiancé, Bradley Peterson of New Castle; one daughter, Jen (Kyle) Unger of New Castle; and her best friend, Brenda Weingartner of New Castle. Preceding her in death were her paternal and maternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be held on Wed. Oct. 21 from 11:00 – 1:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC guidelines regarding wearing face masks and practicing social distancing. A private family service will be held immediately following visitation with Rev. John Yergan, officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
