Kurt Fehrs, 55, of Neshannock Township, went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, the afternoon of November 21, 2020 at UPMC Passavant-McCandless. Born October 24, 1965 in New Castle, he is the son of Richard F. and Joan E. (Treloar) Fehrs. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Kathy (Travers) Fehrs, whom he married October 5, 1996. A graduate of Wilmington Area High School, where he was a member of the 1981 state baseball championship team, he received his bachelor's degree from Westminster College. He furthered his education at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where he received his Master's in Divinity and at Regent University, obtaining his Master's in Youth Counseling and Religion. He also received his early education degree from Slippery Rock University. Kurt used his counseling degree in the mental health field working as a Behavioral Specialist Consultant with Community Alternatives Inc. Although Kurt did not use his seminary degree to go into the pastoral ministry, he loved to talk to others about his faith in Jesus Christ, in whose arms he is now wrapped. Kurt's life revolved around his three children and nothing gave him greater joy. If you ever wanted to find Kurt, you just needed to know which sporting event his kids were involved in that day. They were a never-ending source of pride for him. An avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Pittsburgh sports teams, Kurt also enjoyed golfing. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church in New Wilmington. In addition to his parents and his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Jesse Fehrs and two sons, Luke Fehrs and Seth Fehrs all of New Castle; two brothers, Scott (Amy) Fehrs of Warrendale and Rick (Sally) Fehrs of Doylestown, PA; and one sister, Cindy (Bob) Clark of Volant, PA, in addition to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and one uncle, David Treloar. A private service will be held for the family at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. with the Rev. Ron Nagel and Rev. Dominick Cestrone officiating. Burial will be in Castle View Cemetery.
