Lila Miriam Mim Lepisto, age 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior the morning of November 15, 2018, at the Grove in New Wilmington. Born March 4, 1929, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ida (Haltunen) Karki. Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, C. William Lepisto, whom she married on January 13, 1951. Mrs. Lepisto was a sales representative employed by Sears. She was the former church organist for Trinity Lutheran Church. More recently, she was a member of Shenango Presbyterian Church. What gave Miriam the most joy in life, was spending time with her family and her church family. Miriam is survived by three sons; Thomas (Dawn) Lepisto of Roswell, NM., Dennis (Georgia) Lepisto of Wataga, IL., Jim Lepisto of San Diego, CA., one sister; Norma (Jim) Welker of New Wilmington, Pa., five grandchildren Andy (Laura) Lepisto, Liisa (Greg) Kirschner, Lindsey Lepisto, Caleb Lepisto, Tristan Lepisto, six great-grandchildren; Madelyn Straw, Olivia Straw, Faith Lepisto, Kate Lepisto, AyrisLee Lepisto, ElvisLee Lepisto and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, preceding her in death were four brothers; William, Henry, Andrew and Paul Karki ,three sisters; Viola Karki, Laina Karki, Elma Lepisto; and her fianc Arnold Hogue. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 17th, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will follow immediately after visitation at 1:00 PM with Pastor Carl Sacherich officiating. Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Shenango Presbyterian Church.
