Lambert L. "Burt" Wright, age 78, of New Castle, passed away the night of October 14, 2015 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born November 20, 1936 in Garrett County, Maryland, he was a son of Russell and Edna Humberson Wright. Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 53 years, Dorothy Burner Wright, whom he married May 26, 1962. A 1954 graduate of Northern Garrett High School, he went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force. Burt was the former owner of Wright's Furniture in New Castle, always remembering his former customers. Burt served as past president of the New Castle Lions Club. He was an avid golfer and sports fan and also enjoyed gardening. In addition to his wife Dorothy, he is survived by one daughter, Pamela Louderback of Campbell, Calif; one son, Greg Wright of North Woodmere, NY; two brothers, Gordon Wright of Friendsville, MD and Delmos Wright of Elyria, OH; two sisters, Elsie Rabago of Mt. View, Calif. and Dolores Shade of Frederick, MD; two grandchildren, Lila Wright and William Louderback; and numerous extended family. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
