Laurie Lee Kunselman, age 68, of New Castle, passed away the morning of Oct. 17, 2022, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born Feb. 12, 1954, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Donald E. and Ruth E. (Polding) Kennedy.

On July 27, 1974, she married her beloved husband of 48 years, Gregory D. Kunselman. He survives at home.

Laurie was a 1972 graduate of Shenango High School. For several years, she worked as a medical billing specialist. She was an avid gardener, taking exceptional care of her beautiful roses. She loved to cook and gather her family together for any event, but especially enjoyed family gatherings, on the holidays. Her favorite vacation spot was the beach where she traveled as often as she could. Laurie was a member of Harmony Baptist Church where she was a Deaconess, sang in the choir, and sang solos.

In addition to her husband, Laurie is survived by her mother, Ruth; two sons, Erik (Toni) Kunselman of Butler, PA, and Jonathan (Michelle) Kunselman of New Castle, PA; one brother, Gene W. Kennedy of New Castle, PA; and one grandson, Matthew Case.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Andrew Case.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 21st from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A service will follow immediately after visitation at 6:00 PM with Pastor Jeff MacKay, of Harmony Baptist Church, officiating.
