Laurie R. Malone, 67,of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of February 28, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital. Born September 15, 1948 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Charles J. and Luella Black Lewis. She was married to Patrick E. Malone who preceded her in death. A graduate of New Castle High School, Laurie was a homemaker and also a cook for over 10 years at the Village Inn. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Laurie was of the Protestant faith. She is survived by two daughters, Mylissa R. Malone and Jennifer E. Malone; one son, Shaun M. Malone, all of New Castle; two sisters, Doreen Y. Hoover of New Castle and Nancy R. Lewis of Beaver Falls; and four grandchildren, Patrick E. Malone, II, Elijah H. P. Covington, Luke M. Malone, and Emily M. Malone. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
