Lawrence C. "Larry" DeGennaro, age 70, of New Castle, passed away suddenly the morning of January 26, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born November 18, 1953, in New Castle, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Helen (Domrad) DeGennaro. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia (Anderson) DeGennaro, whom he married September 26, 1976.

Larry was a 1971 graduate of Lawrence County Vo-Tech and attended Penn State University. He was both a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Holy Spirit Parish where he taught CCD classes, but employed there as well. In addition to his love for his church, he enjoyed assembling model trains.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Lawrence T. (Erica) DeGennaro of Jim Thorpe, PA; one brother, Greg DeGennaro of Okeechobee, Florida; three sisters, Laura Manfield of Slippery Rock, Sandra Cooper of New Castle and Joyce Maravich of Scott Township, PA; and two grandchildren, Ethan and Llena DeGennaro.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Feb. 1, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 124 N. Beaver Street, New Castle, with Father Aaron Kriss officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Youth Ministries.
