Lawrence A. "Lucky" Ward Jr., 86, of Main St. New Middletown, OH passed away on Saturday, February 26th, 2011, at Hospice House in Poland, OH.Lucky was born February 29th, 1924 in New Castle, PA. to the late Lawrence A. and Maude E. Wilkins Ward Sr. He married the late Doris E. Book Ward on June 7th, 1946 and she passed January 25th, 1998. He subsequently married Marian Wilson Frasier Ward on December 8th, 1999 and she passed April 14th, 2006. Lucky worked for nineteen years with General Motors Lordstown plant as a millwright. He was a US Navy veteran and hobbies included fishing, church softball league and playing many sports when he was younger. Lucky was a former member of the Epworth United Methodist Church and currently a member of the New Bedford Presbyterian Church.He is survived by three daughters; Janet Bassett of Brentwood, TN., Linda Kolat of New Middletown, OH., and Sandra Waltenbaugh of Transfer, PA.; along with five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.In addition to his parents and two wives, Lawrence was preceded by three sisters; Clara Ward, Marguerite McCarthy, and Dorothy Smith.Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1, 2011, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with The Rev.
