Leona M. Sallmen, 87, of E. Elizabeth St., passed away the evening of March 24, 2010 in Jameson Hospital North.Born on December 5, 1922, in New Castle she was the daughter of the late Earle Linwood and Daisy Gaghagan Dilks. She married Samuel R. Sallmen on September 21, 1941. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Sallmen was a graduate of New Castle High School and a member of First Assembly of God.She was a liner for Shenango China. Mrs. Sallmen is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jim Hodge of Enon Valley, PA; and one son-in-law, John Boyce of New Castle, PA; three grandchildren, Donna Bullock, Chris and Katie Hodge, and David Hodge.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Cheryl Boyce; two brothers, Harold Wechtenhiser, Lin Dilks; and two sisters, Geraldine Martin and Phyllis Sorbo.Visitation will be on Saturday, March 27, 2010 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at First Assembly of God 2021 Pulaski Rd., New Castle, PA 16105.A service will take place at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the church with the Rev. Chad Stoecker and the Rev. Kenneth Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
