Leonard Kris Dohl, age 69 of Youngstown, OH, passed away the morning of May 7, 2021, in New Castle, PA. Born Feb. 20, 1952, in Berwick, PA, he was the son of the late Leonard Hoke and Charlotte Sarah (Markley) Dohl. On Nov. 23, 1973 he married his wife of 48 years, Susan L. (Bare) Dohl. She survives at home. Leonard was a graduate of Tallmadge High School, of Ohio, and then went on to faithfully serve his country in the United States Army. He was retired, from the trucking industry, where he made his career for several years. He enjoyed fishing, stock car dirt track racing, and having a few beers and a cigarette as he smoked his favorite cut of meat to enjoy. What gave him the most joy of all, was spending time with his children, grandchildren, great granddaughter and brother, Eric. In addition to his loving wife Susan, he is survived by one son, Kris Leonard (Martina) Dohl of Germany; one daughter, Cynthia Louise Dohl of Nolensville, TN; two brothers, Eric (Ann) Dohl of New Castle, PA and James H. (Sharrie) Dohl of Mohavey Valley, AZ; two sisters, Rebecca Jane Smith of Golden Valley, AZ, and Andrea Klitz of Florida; four grandchildren, Alexis, Andrew (Melanie), Ashley and Austin; and one great grandchild, Adaley. Along with his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by two brothers, Randall Scott Dohl and Mark Dohl. In keeping with his wishes, a private service will be held for the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
