Liam Dodd Kellner

Liam Dodd blessed us by joining our family on October 28, 2013.  He was a blessing from day one.  Liam was, by far, the most loyal friend ever.  He was quite a character and full of personality.  Liam enjoyed an extra-spoiled lifestyle from the start.  We were lucky enough to celebrate 122 holidays together over the 11 years we shared together, not including his own special birthday celebrations.  On his tenth anniversary, he was treated to a weekend getaway with his loving parents at a B&B in Gettysburg, and he was the talk of the town.  He traveled the streets wearing his birthday hat and scarf, getting attention from so many people as they smiled at him riding along in his special stroller.  He enjoyed extra special meals that weekend, and even a trip to Kilwin’s Ice Cream Shoppe.  He also got to walk and run on the trails, getting to enjoy nature. 

Through the years, he enjoyed walks several times a week and especially liked to go to the little park near our house.  The last couple years as health problems arose, he looked forward to sitting in his stroller being wheeled around by his loving Mother.  People would walk or drive by and always slow down and smile, and you could truly see the enjoyment on both of our faces. 

Another thing Liam particularly enjoyed was a tasty, yet tiny, slice of pizza on a Friday night, and a drive to Starbucks with Cassandra for a Pup-Cup was never turned down.  He really enjoyed car rides, especially going to different parks in the area.

A family vacation was never complete until a special outfit or present was bought just for Liam.

There’s so much more I could write about my most loyal sweet boy, but that would take a lifetime.  The joy Liam brought and the impact he made will be forever missed.  There will never be another like him.  I thank God for blessing me with being his Mom. 

Liam passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in the arms of his loving Mother, his Pet Dad Jeff, and Sister Cassandra.  He also leaves behind his Gramma who loved him very much, and his Bassett Hound Sister, Dixie Mae, who is still looking for him.  Liam was preceded in death by his beloved sister Lady, and many other pet siblings.

Liam’s family will always hold dear the caring staff at Apple Grove Veterinary Clinic, including Drs. Jeff and Andy McKissick, Sidney, all of the technicians, and the wonderful front desk staff who always made time for us, especially the last several months as health issues arose.

I will forever miss you, but know we will be together again one day.  Until then, I will try my best to pay forward the pure joy that you gave to me for the 11 years we were together.  I love you, My Sweetest Boy.  I’ll meet you at the Bridge.
