Lily came to us at a time when we really needed her.  She helped to lift our spirits and look forward with some hope.  She loved people and always greeted everyone with enthusiasm, her whole body wiggling joyfully!  But Lily was an independent spirit, so she would quickly be off to do her own thing.  She loved to wander around our big yard, run and bark at the deer, and to lay on the porch or looking through the glass door, enjoying the sunshine and watching for anyone going by.  Lily was very intelligent, and learned to train us by tapping on the treat door and looking at us to tell us to give her a treat, and to bark at her toy basket until we pulled out the correct toy for her.  She spoke to us in soft grunts, and would answer questions with an "Uh-huh," "uh-uh," or "mmmmmmm."  She loved to go hang with the other dogs at the groomers, and then would prance proudly to show off her gorgeous soft coat when she returned.  Lily was the sweetest girl.  She made us laugh, she filled us with joy, she was an important part of our family.  Lily was deeply beloved, and we will miss her more than we can express.
