Lisa Diane McCaskey, 61, of Neshannock Township, passed away the morning of January 4, 2014 at her residence. Born in 1952 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Stanley B. and Marilyn Dembert Kraus. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Douglas McCaskey, whom she married July 12, 1975. Lisa was a 1970 graduate of Neshannock High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Youngstown State and her Master's degree in nursing from Penn State. She was a school nurse for over 22 years at Neshannock High School; a lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association; and a member of the Lawrence County Nurses Association, American Cancer Society and Make-a-Wish Foundation. She enjoyed shopping for others, walking, and scrapbooking. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother Marilyn of Delray Beach, Fl; three sons, Jon (Megan) McCaskey of Westlake, Oh., Todd (Dina) McCaskey of Mars, PA, and Scott (Christina) McCaskey of New Castle; one sister, Merry Beth (Jim) Kowalczyk of River Forest, IL; one brother, Dr. Eric M.(Kathy) Kraus of Greensboro, NC; and three grandchildren, Ian, Mia, and Liam McCaskey; and many fond nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at 11:00 am at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev. Patricia Sawaya, Chaplin of Jameson Hospice.
