Lois M. Hooks, 89, of 2604 Frew Mill Road, formerly of Beckford St., passed away the morning of Jan. 21, 2010, in Jameson Hospital.Born Aug. 30, 1920, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Marie Rice Brennaman.She married Russell M. Hooks who preceded her in death in 1984.She was a graduate of New Castle High School.Lois was employed by First National Bank as a teller.She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church where she was active in the True Blue Sunday School class, the Graham Women's Circle, the Presbyterian Women's Association, and was also a deacon.Lois is survived by a daughter, Patty Jo Dean of New Castle; a brother, Donald Brennaman of Zellwood, Fla.; a sister, Jayne Moore of New Castle; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Barbara Hooks; a son, Rusty Hooks; and a brother, Kenneth Brenneman.Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at the funeral home. The Rev. Douglas Hughes of Third Presbyterian Church will officiate.Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Third Presbyterian Church, 1315 E.
