Lois M. Mershimer, 89, formerly of Denver, Colorado, passed away the morning of August 20, 2013 at Major's Manor in New Castle. Born July 5, 1924 in Slippery Rock Township, she was a daughter of Charles G. and Eva M. Forbes Mershimer. She was a 1942 graduate of Princeton High School and from New Castle Business College. Lois was employed as an Administrative Assistant with Prudential Life in Denver, Colorado.She loved dogs and enjoyed taking care of them for others. She also liked quilting and was a member of the Denver Quilting Club. She was a member of Princeton Memorial Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two brothers, John C. (Cis) Mershimer of New Castle, and C. Richard Mershimer of Sharon; and three sisters, Jean Day and Eleanor Judge both of New Castle, and Doris Turner of Seminole, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Ayres, Edna Biddle and Edith Fanning; one brother, Joseph Mershimer; and one nephew, Mark Turner. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Hermon Cemetery and will be officiated by Lois' nephew, James Fanning. Memorial contributions may be made to Princeton Memorial Presbyterian Church, 3012 Church Road, New Castle, PA 16101. Arrangements are by the R.
