Lois June Owoc went home to be with Jesus on August 1st 2023, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Lois accomplished so much throughout her life; a restaurant owner and tremendous cook, professional nanny to 34 children and a compassionate caregiver, a dedicated volunteer, advocate and speaker for MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), wonderful and kind neighbor, animal lover, devoted friend and so much more. She never met a stranger and was known for her endless generosity, genuine smile and infections laugh.

One of her greatest talents was bringing laughter and joy as a professional clown. However, her greatest gift and honor was being a devoted and doting Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.

Being born in the great depression to a family of all sisters, she quickly learned the value and importance of family. Lois cherished her family and lived her life with boundless love and dedication to them. She was the heart of our household. Her nurturing spirit was a constant source of strength and comfort to all who knew her.

Lois was preceded in death by her oldest son, Robert C. Strawhecker, her mother and loving father, her five sisters and her dear friend, Denise Pagliaro.

Her family is anxious to be reunited with her again by the grace of Jesus. Her loving children, son Dana and Connie Kennedy, daughter Laura and Gary Mitchell, son Russell Kennedy, daughter-in-law Pam and Fred Martsolf, Pam and Mark VanHout and Todd Kennedy.

Her beloved granddaughters, Bethany and Scott Arrow, Melissa and Jimmy Ashby, Katie and Mike Pratt, Emily and Kyle Sikes, Casey and Ann VanHout.

Great grandchildren Madalyn, Sydney, and Anderson.

She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and so many friends. Her lifelong best friend, Donna Cannon-Shaffer, was a constant companion as well as Donna's entire family.

Her family will treasure her Sunday tradition of family dinners, memories fostered by the many years of New Castle's own Back-to-the-50's, enjoying fireworks, water gun fights, road trips, warm summer afternoons on the porch with her famous Ice Tea, holiday dinner tables gathered in love with laughter and warmth echoing, relishing in stories of growing up together whether on a bike, motorcycle, snowmobile or in a classic car.

Lois was family-centric who exemplified her love created by her warm embrace for each member of our family. From hosting gatherings to cooking her signature meals, she always put family first, fostering the strong bonds that will endure for generations to come.

She will be deeply missed but cherished forever. As we say goodbye, we find solace in the countless memories we shared with her and the impact she made on each of our lives. We share stories, memories and experiences that allow the bonds between us to grow stronger, weaving an unbreakable tapestry of love and support. We give thanks for the moments shared, the challenges conquered, and the countless blessings. We celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind—a legacy that will forever be etched in our hearts.

A memorial celebration of Lois's life will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM at New Salem Presbyterian Church, in Midland, PA.
