Lois E. Sweitzer, age 72, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of July 28, 2022, at her residence. Born Nov. 7, 1949, in Brookline, MA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Raymond O'Brien and Helen Lillian (Kilmer) O'Brien Kahler. On June 19, 1971, she married her beloved husband, of 51 years, Wilbur Lee Sweitzer. He survives at home. For 30 years, Lois was the secretary of Calvary Independent Church, where she was a faithful member. In addition to being the secretary and attending church services, she was a member of the Lois Guild and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed knitting, crafting, and going to the beach. Above everything else, she cherished the time she spent with her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Scott Sweitzer, of New Castle; two daughters, Robin Sweitzer of the Dominican Republic, and Colleen (Michael) Steinbeck of Bethel Park, PA; one sister, Joyce (Walter) Yoho of Virginia Beach, VA and two granddaughters, Shelby and Morgan Sweitzer, both of New Castle. Along with her parents, Lois was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Dawnlee Sweitzer. Visitation will be held on Tues. Aug. 2nd from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, with a funeral service immediately following at 7:00 PM. Rev. Charles L.
