Obituary

Loleta A. Gaiser, 93, of 3349 Wilmington Road, formerly of Old Harbor Road, passed away the night of May 1, 2013 at Jameson Care Center. Born June 11, 1919 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Benny and Olive Hasenbuler Butts.Loleta married Claude E. Gaiser on July 6, 1938. He preceded her in death Sept. 21, 1998. A 1937 graduate of New Castle High School, she was a homemaker. Loleta was a member of Wimodausis, Eastern Star, and enjoyed rug hooking and taking care of her grandchildren. She was currently a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and previously was a member of the former Harbor United Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Judith L. English of Clarksville, VA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Claude M. (Josh) and Audrey Gaiser of New Castle and Keith and Betsy Gaiser of Winter Haven FL; one son-in-law, Thomas J. Shaffer of Winter Haven, FL; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Shaffer; two brothers, Clifford Butts and Milton Butts; and three sisters, Myrtle Hamilton, Mildred Gilmore, and Bernice Harlow; and a son-in-law, Rocky English. Visitation will be Saturday, May 4, 2013, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. following visitation. The Rev. Andrew Jillson of Northminster Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be at Castle View Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jameson Care Center Activities, 3349 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA 16105.
