Lorri Ann
Stroia-Reid
Jun 1, 1961 — Aug 22, 2025
Lorri Ann Stroia-Reid, 64 went home to be with our Lord and parents on August 22, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family. Her unexpected passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Lorri was born on June 1, 1961 at Jameson Memorial Hospital to William and Juanita Stroia, who preceded her in death in July of 2007. Also preceding her in death was her mother-in-law, Mary Edna Miles.
She is survived by her loving husband, William Reid, whom she met at Sghetti's restaurant 25 years ago. They celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on July 3rd. Lorri was a devoted mother to her children whom she cherished. Surviving children are Jessica Stroia (boyfriend Jeremy Barbati), William Stroia, Mindy Reid, William (Ally) Reid and Daniel (Aqueelah) Reid. She adored their grandchildren, Journey & Zuri Reid and Daniel Reid Jr. Surviving siblings are William & Ken Miles-Kanerak, Robert & Cheryl Emes, Karen & Tom Evans, Bill & Maggie Stroia and Bo and Leo Amabile. Survivors also include numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. All were touched by her love and will miss her dearly.
Lorri was a member and attended Highland Presbyterian Church. She was a 1979 graduate of New Castle High School and continued her education at Shenango Valley School of Business, earning an Associate's degree. She was a server for decades at Eat n Park, Perkins, Ponderosa and King's Family Restaurant to name a few. She was a kind, efficient server, known for her smile and requested by customers. She also worked at Castle Towing, Dollar General and Augustine's Pizza, as well as babysitting nieces and nephews.
Lorri cherished time spent with her family and loved to garden, cook, sew, dance and drive. Her children, nieces and nephews will never forget her "waffle" when driving and the pranks she used to pull. She loved the holidays, particularly Halloween, and enjoyed decorating their home for each holiday. The family truly appreciated her grape leaves and cabbage rolls she would bring to holiday gatherings. Lorri was a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed her family's sibling dinners when the adults shared news of their children and grandchildren with pride, love and laughter. Her memory will live on in the stories we share, the traditions we hold dear and the love we carry forward with the strength we receive from our Lord & Savior.
Visitation for Lorri will be held at R. Cunningham Funeral Home at 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, Pa on Friday, August 29th from 12-3pm with a 3:00 memorial service. Rev.
