Louise B. Landon, 92, of Elmcroft Assisted Living, Albuquerque, NM, formerly of Nesbit Road, New Castle, passed away March 7, 2013 at her residence. Born December 25, 1920, in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of Charles P. Brown and Eleanor Gardell Brown Rowan. Preceding her in death on May 5, 1992, was her husband of forty six years, John Carswell Landon whom she married on December 8, 1945. Louise was a graduate of New Castle High School in January, 1938 and of Wayne State University in December, 1979. She was employed with the Pontiac Motor Division of General Motors Corp. for over thirty years, retiring as a copywriter in March, 1981. Louise enjoyed volunteering at the New Castle Public Library where she taught reading and English as a second language. She was of Methodist faith. Survivors include two sons, John J. Landon of Water Port, NY and Christopher C. Landon of Albuquerque, NM; a sister, Sallie Rowan Daytner of New Castle, PA; a brother, Robert W. Rowan of New Castle; 5 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Albert S. Rowan; one brother, Harry S. Rowan; and one sister, Mary Rowan Norris. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Castleview Memorial Gardens, 3010 Wilmington Road, New Castle and officiated by Rev.
