Lucille H. Young, 91, formerly of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of Nov. 12, 2013 at her daughter's home in Pittsburgh. Born April 29, 1922, she was the daughter of Raymond and Blanche Maxwell. Lucille married Paul E. Young, her high school sweetheart, on Aug. 17, 1943. He preceded her in death Aug. 27, 2007. A graduate of Eastbrook High School, Lucille worked in the cafeteria at Shenango School District until her retirement. She had previously worked at Shenango China. She enjoyed sewing, reading and word search puzzles, watching Jeopardy and Penguin and Pirate games. Lucille was a charter member of New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church and a member of the Covenant Seekers Sunday school class. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl A. and John Colosimo of Pittsburgh; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Lavonne Young of Woodbridge, VA, and Timothy and Pamela Young of Newark, CA; and beloved granddaughter, Sara (Jere) Maxcy of Pittsburgh. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Malcom and Delbert Maxwell; and two sisters, Ruth Cox, and Doris Tharpe. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Chris Curtis will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1911 Harlansburg Road, New Castle, PA 16101. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
