Margaret S. "Peggy" Buckner, age 86, passed away the early morning of Sept. 16, 2019 at her residence. Born March 31, 1933 in Duryea, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret P. Strupcewski. She married William J. Buckner on Feb. 1, 1960. He survives at home. Mrs. Buckner graduated from Mansfield University with an education degree. She then furthered her education, at Penn State University, graduating with a Master's Degree, in education. She went on to teach at Holmdel School District in New Jersey as an Elementary School Teacher. Peggy was of the Catholic Faith. Along with her husband, William, Peggy is survived by two sons, William A.H. Buckner of Allen, TX, Jonathan A.B. Buckner of Pulaski, PA; one brother Anthony Strupcewski of Valley Cottage, New York; three grandchildren, Nicholas Tompkins, Nathaniel and Zachary Buckner and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, preceding her in death are one brother, John Strupcewski, and three sisters, Marion Ann Chekan, Cyrstal E. Carey and Ann Rita Strupcewski. Visitation will be held on Thurs. Sept. 19 from 4:00 - 7:00PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will take place on Friday, at the funeral home, starting at 11:00 AM, with Rev. William LaVelle, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
