Margaret F. Campbell, age 89 of New Castle, passed away the morning of Aug. 30, 2021, at Avalon Place in New Castle. Born Sept. 4, 1931, in Ellwood City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Beulah (Hummel) Marshall. On June 18, 1953, she married her beloved husband of 44 years, Chester J. Campbell, Jr. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1998. Margaret was a graduate of Lincoln High School, in Ellwood City. In 1952, she graduated from Jameson School of Nursing. After graduation, she went on to be a nurse at various nursing homes and was the director of Nursing, at Macaluso Nursing Home, for more than twenty years. Margaret enjoyed crocheting and attending church activities. She was a lifelong member of Bell Memorial Presbyterian church, where she sang in the choir. What gave Margaret the most joy in life, was spending time with her family. Mrs. Campbell is survived by her five children, Dana R. Campbell of Edinburg, PA, Alan R. Campbell of New Castle, PA, Brian J. Campbell of Abbottstown, PA, Gary L. Campbell of New Castle, PA, and Cindy J. Campbell of Boardman, OH; one brother, Edwin Marshall of New Castle, PA; one foster sister, Vivian Schwirian of Zelienople, PA; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by one son, Steven J. Campbell one foster sister, Yvonne, three foster brothers, Charles, Paul and John, one granddaughter, Nikki Frazier and one grandson, Bennett Campbell. A memorial service will be held on Sat. Sept. 4th at 11:00 am at Bell Memorial Presbyterian Church, 610 Line Ave., Ellwood City, PA 16117. Pastor Bob Strobel will be officiating. Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery, alongside her husband.
