Margaret "Peg" Patton, 91, of Edinburg, passed away October 13, 2020 at Avalon Nursing Home in New Castle. Born February 26, 1929 in Plymouth, PA, she was the daughter of David A. and Margaret Morris. She married Gayle Patton on April 28, 1946. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2011. Peg was a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was known for her large gardens by all her family and friends. She got great pleasure from watching her grandchildren get on and off the school bus every day. She was also the original "Neighborhood Watch" of Patton Lane. She was a member of Grace Bible Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Russell Patton and Rick Patton; one sister, Sylvia Sweet; one brother, David John Morris; one infant granddaughter; and one infant great-granddaughter. Peg is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and John Winland of Salesville, Ohio; two sons and daughter-in-law, Dr. Thomas Patton and Karen Patton, and Kevin and Sherry Patton, all of Edinburg; one daughter-in-law, Victoria Patton; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A private family service will take place immediately following visitation at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. John Coomber officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
