Margaret ‘Peggy’ Louise Bupp, age 103, of New Castle, PA, passed away peacefully the late evening of July 26, 2026, at The Haven Convalescent Home.

Born Feb. 6, 1923, in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis ‘Frank’ Patrick and Clara Elizabeth (Dix) Fogarty.

On Sept. 26, 1941, she married her beloved husband, Linton G. Bupp. Mr. Bupp preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 2002.

A devoted homemaker and gifted master seamstress, Peggy had a remarkable talent for sewing and creating countless items with great care and attention to detail. She delighted in collecting and wearing unique jewelry, was an expert pianist, enjoyed reading, and loved being a part of the Sparklers Bible Study, where she enjoyed fellowship, encouragement, and growing in her faith alongside dear friends. She was the proud granddaughter of a Civil War Veteran who fought in Gettysburg. Family was her most valued treasure this side of heaven. She thoroughly enjoyed spending countless family gatherings and holidays with them. She was a faithful member of First Alliance Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Debbie (Paul) Moran of New Castle, PA; one son, Dr. Barry Bupp of Greensburg, PA; ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by one son, Rev. Dennis Bupp and his wife, Arlene Joy Bupp, a daughter-in-law, Gail Ann Bupp, two brothers, Edward and Bill Fogarty, and three sisters, Violet Tocco, Wilma Wilcox and Jean Ketzel.

Visitation will be held on Thurs. July 30th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington, New Castle, PA.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 31st, at 10:00 AM, at the funeral home, with Peggy’s grandson, Rev. Matthew Bupp, officiating.

Burial will be alongside her husband at Castle View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the City Resue Mission, 319 S. Croton Ave., New Castle, PA 16101.
