Margaret Kay Phipps, 70, of Skyhill Road, Edinburg, passed away the morning of July 10, 2015 at her residence.
Born April 1, 1945 in New Castle, she was a daughter of James and Wanda Hanna Martin.
Surviving at home is her husband, Charles A. Phipps, whom she married on April 16, 1983.
A graduate of Mohawk High School, she attended Clarion University, and received her Master's Degree from Slippery Rock University.
Margaret was a teacher for 45 years with Mohawk High School, retiring in 2013.
A member of the 4-H Club, she also enjoyed reading, sewing, walking, and card club.
An active 70 year member of Mahoning Presbyterian Church, she sang in the choir, served as a deacon, and was a member of the Hope Circle.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Brian (Michelle) Kerr of New Castle; one step-son, Dennis (Karla) Phipps of Jacksonville, FL; one step-daughter, Tracy (Rob) Delsignore of Canfield, Ohio; one brother, David (Cheryl) McClelland; six sisters, Becky (John) Cole, Laura (Tate) Stevens, Janet (Rick) Wambolt, Sally (David) Erskine, Louellen (Will) Willick, and Susan (Ray) Stoner; 3 grandchildren, Dylan, Ethan, and Braedan Kerr; and 4 step-grandchildren, Matt, Caleb, Jack and Charles Phipps.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will take place on Monday at 2:00 p.m at the Mahoning Presbyterian Church, 4401 Skyhill Road, Pulaski, PA. Rev. Richard Byerly will be officiating.
Burial will be in Mahoning Presbyterian Cemetery.
