Margaret "Marg" Mary Ann Schoos Pommersheim went to be with the Lord February 27th, 2019 after a long and beautiful life. Despite her battle with Alzheimers, she died like she lived with dignity and grace. Marg was born to Jessie and Thomas Schoos in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania in 1934. Both her parents and her brother, Paul proceeded her in death. Marg married William John Pommersheim in 1958 and they enjoyed 60 years together. She raised three children with kindness and compassion and devoted her life to making her husband, children and six grandchildren feel both special and loved. Marg attended the University of Pittsburgh nursing program and earned her BSRN degree in 1957. She was born a nurse. She used this degree in both the hospital and school settings but for Marg supporting others was more a passion than a profession. Strangers talked with her everywhere and often shared their journeys. She inspired those around her and they lightened their load because of her listening ear. Marg believed in hard work followed by a good meal. Her pies were legendary. She often cursed her figure but was always beautiful to others. She would sometimes judge herself harshly but believed in second chances for those around her. She found pleasure in the simply things yet could recognize the exceptional experience and be overwhelmed with gratitude. Marg never allowed others to care for her; Everyone elses needs were hers to fill and thats the way she liked it. Perhaps her battle with Alzheimers was a way for her to finally receive some of the caring she doled out all those years. Perhaps this was a way for others to find meaning in serving her the way she had served others throughout her life. We will never know any of that, but we do know, that the world without her is a less beautiful place. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 6-8 pm and Saturday from 12-1 pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Steve Plylar will officiate.
