Margery Book, 81, formerly of State Road, passed away the afternoon of August 17, 2017 at Carriage Manor in New Castle. Born November 17, 1935 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Ruth Thompson Patton Hanna. She was preceded in death on April 7, 2010 by her husband of 54 years, Richard Larry Book, whom she married on October 15, 1955. After her 1954 graduation from Eastbrook High School, Margery attended Robert Morris College where she was a Secretarial School graduate in 1955. She was a member of several card clubs and bowling leagues and enjoyed quilting, knitting and caning chairs. An active member of Eastbrook Presbyterian Church, she was a Deacon and served on the kitchen committee and in the nursery. She is survived by one daughter, Diane L. (James) McMichael of New Castle; two sons, David W. (Janet) Book of Wampum and John T. (Stacy) Book of New Castle; two brothers, Donald Hanna and Wayne Hanna of Florida; 9 grandchildren, Amanda Stone, Ty Book, Jessica Book, Cody Book, Jamie Orres, Christina Stoner, Jordan Book, Tori Book and John Book; and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Leonard Book and one brother, John Jack Hanna. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 AM Noon at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral Service will take place immediately following visitation at Noon at the funeral home with Rev. Jason Schepp of Eastbrook Presbyterian Church and Rev.
